Toyota's newest and latest product in the MPV category, the Innova Crysta has experienced an overwhelming response from the car lovers and enthusiasts of the Innova brand. In spite of coming with a fairly higher price tag than its earlier version, the Crysta has managed to garner more than 30,000 bookings since its release in May 2016.

With the demands from the car purchasers being consistent, the car maker has planned to ramp up the production of Innova Crysta's in order to lessen the waiting period for this model, which at present stands at more than three months.

In the month of May, Toyota was able to sell off 7,259 models of the Innova Crysta, which resulted in this car making it to the top 10 best selling cars of the month. The huge and consistent sales of this car continued in June, with the company having sold 7,500 units. The interesting point to note here is that 50 per cent of the Crysta's sales came from the automatic variant.

Director and Senior Vice President of the Sales and Marketing department at Toyota Kirloskar Motor, N Raja said, "Since the launch of the Innova Crysta we have done up to 30,000 bookings, out of which 50 per cent are for the automatic transmission variant. Currently, we have a waiting period of over three months.

We are increasing production. In May when we started we were producing around 6,000 units. In June, it went up to around 7,800 units. Going forward, depending on demand, we expect to maintain that level."

The Innova Crysta will be coming in four grades with MT (manual transmission) - Zx, Vx, Gx & G and in two grades with an AT (automatic transmission) - Zx & Gx, which constitutes about 50 - 60 per cent of the car's total orders.

The MPV has also managed to overtake the sales figures recorded by Hyundai Creta and the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza to launch itself on the ninth place among the top sellers in the month of June. The rises in sales of the Innova Crysta have enables the car company to experience a 30 per cent year-on-year growth for the month of June. Considering the demand, the automaker increased the MPV's production in June and expects to uphold it.
