Floodlights are artificial lights, which have broad-beam and high intensity. These find its applications in illuminating outdoor playing fields when an event is held in low light condition. Some playing fields do not have flood lights installed permanently; instead they use the portable ones which are temporary. This has proved to be a good alternative to the halogen lamps or the high intensity discharge lamps which has low power consumption and high intensity output. It finds its application extensively in live music concerts and the LEDs offer different colours like green, blue, red.

Another advantage is that they do not require any dimmers. Because of its low power consumption, many units can be chained together to a single power supply. They can produce as much light of approximately three halogen light bulbs. Thus, they use low energy to produce same brightness.

Specialties of Ultra Thin Flood Lighting Systems

There are many more subcategories of floodlights, which can be categorised in different ways. One of them is the ultra thin flood light, which is thinner than the normal LED floodlights. It can illuminate a wide range of area as it has wide beam, which lightens, up the desired location. There are different types available so there are many options to choose which satisfies the requirements. They have longer lifetime as compared to other types of lights and can illuminate light for thousands of hours without any fault which helps in low cost in maintenance.

The requirement for lighting is to be cost effective and efficient. Ultra slim flood light has an efficiency that ranges from 50 to 150lm/W. As mentioned earlier, this light is very efficient which uses less energy and a long lifetime is guaranteed. In addition, maintenance and its replacement are not required for a quite long time so it cut down the cost. The only problem that it has is the initial cost is higher than the other floodlights but the significant benefits that they possess make them attractive.
