India is been one of the countries who produce maximum number of doctors & engineers every year. India is also a birth place of many famous personalities who have achieved huge success only on the basis of their education. There has been drastic increase in the number of schools, universities & institutes that in turn has also increased the literacy ratio. India is also a home to one of the best English medium schools in Asia. Students across the globe come to India for higher education because of its high quality & facilities that Indian schools & colleges have. There are several residential & boarding schools across the country for localities & international residents who wish to send their children. Following is the list of
Emphasizes more on theoretical learning: From kindergarden our teachers at school focus on theoretical concepts. We are taught to learn big answers & also habituated to regular exams, tests, projects & assessments. This ensures we don’t lose grip of our syllabus & timely give importance to lessons learnt at school. This study cycle ensures we score better & get through in national as well as foreign based standardized tests like GRE, GMAT & SAT.
Comparatively cheaper than the other countries: Indian education system is comparatively cheaper than the western counterparts. From ancient times our focus has been on increasing literacy rates which facilitated free education to girls & nominal fees structure for school & colleges. Many schools & colleges are government owned which have focus on quality education & work on central & state government grants.
Maintains a balance between academics & moral, values: Every Indian school begins with prayers, let it be government or privately owned. We also have a subject called moral science which specifically teaches moral & values to students. By making the subject a part of the syllabus shows how much we value morals & values and emphasize on all round development of students.
Focus on art and culture: Weekly classes & sessions on art work like drawing, painting, and embroidery is a usual activity at Indian schools. Drama, dance, playing of musical instruments is always encouraged at schools & professional teachers are called for. Cultural fests & concerts happen in every school where parents get invited to see their children perform.
Focuses on General Knowledge: Along with textual knowledge, general knowledge is given equal importance. There are quizzes that keep a check on the general knowledge of the students. Reading newspaper & books at the library is a part of the academic syllabus. Students are also rated on their general knowledge skills & reading abilities.
Every system has its merits & demerits. Indians should be thankful enough that there innumerable standardized education facilities in the country as compared to the neighboring countries.
