In Gillette Fusion Proglide comes with flexball technology in which the spinning head also allows the vertically pivoting razor to rotate left/right or in a movement forming arc. It claims that due to this enhanced movement, blades continue to be in touch with skin even at the bumps and pits. It says that this new version provides much closer shave to its user that was not attainable than its predecessors. This new version of Fusion Proglide with flexball technology provides much safer, closer and comfortable shave.

Any razor is as good and efficient in its performance as its blades are. In the newer version also Gillette Fusion has not made any significant change, the blades are almost same as that of the previous models. They are interchangeable and the power cartridges can also be attached to the non –power handle. The new blades under the Fusion model are thinner in comparison to the old fusion blades. Although it might not be visible to us, as the difference in the thickness between the two are in fractions. Also the lamels just before the handle have been reduced in number. A new "microcomb" has been introduced just before the shaving blades, so that it can straighten away the hair before they are shaved. This increases the efficiency of the blade and thus provide smoother shave with less irritation. In a nutshell if we compare the performance of Gillette Fusion Proglide with its predecessors then undoubtedly with little improvements and flex ball technology, it is better. Although with the cost of blades high, keep using it on a regular basis I slightly costly affair.
