CAT 2016 Registrations
Posted: Aug 16, 2016
Common Admission Test (CAT) is conducted by the prestigious IIMs to select students for their MBA programs. CAT entrance exam is the only gateway to the Indian Institutes of Managements (IIMs). Every year, either one of the institutes conduct the exam. The students are then shortlisted on the basis of their scores for the further evaluation process, which is conducted by each institute separately.
CAT 2016 notification was released by IIM Bangalore on 31 July, 2016. The notification carries all the information about the exam, such as the important dates, registration process, registration fees, exam pattern etc. According to the notification released, the CAT 2016 exam will be conducted on 4th December, 2016. The registration window for CAT exam opened on 8 August, 2016; candidates may apply for the exam by logging on to the official website of CAT. The candidate needs to provide all personal information along with scanned copies of the relevant documents. After that, one has to proceed to submit the registration fees either through online net banking or via the generation of the challan. Once the fees has been paid, the registration process is officially complete.
Candidate may download the admit card once it has been released on the official site. The admit card is a mandatory document that has to be carried along in the examination hall. It contains all the information regarding the test date, test center, and test slot. Candidates who do not carry the admit card along with them will not be allowed to attempt the exam.
The CAT 2016 exam pattern is very much same as that of CAT 2015. There are three sections namely the Quantitative Aptitude, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning, and Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension. Each section has been allotted with 60 minutes and the total time duration of the test is 180 minutes. Candidates cannot scroll in between the sections as each section is time bounded. One can move on to the next section only after the time allotted to the previous section is over. Also, like previous year, there will be subjective type questions as well. One has to enter the answers manually in these questions. Also, an online calculator will be provided to the candidates.
The registration for the CAT 2016 exam has already begun. The exam is scheduled to take place on 4th December, 2016.
