Neuropsychology is the assessment of different areas of brain functions to includememory, attention, concentration, judgment, problem-solving and reasoning, and motor and sensory functions, as well as psychological factors which may affect functioning.
Testing services are provided in Orlando, Daytona, Tampa, Jacksonville, West Palm Beach, Vero Beach, Boca Raton, Clearwater, Sarasota, Ft Meyers, Naples, Gainesville, Melbourne, Plantation, and Miami areas.
Forensic evaluations for courts and attorneys are provided, and, when necessary, court-room testimony is provided.
The specific function of neuropsychology is psychometric evaluation of brain-behavior relationships as they relate to attention, verbal ability, learning and memory, spatial organization, initiation of behavior, abstract thinking, and other higher-level cognitive abilities.
Assessments describe a patient's current abilities with reference to other people in the population with his/her education, age, gender and ethnic background, and also with respect to how those abilities translate into real-life employment and life management potentials.
Tests
Standardized tests are administered to address specific referral questions for diverse patient populations. Services are provided for individuals presenting withclosed head injuries, dementia disorder, cognitive disorder, and mood disorder. Test results may determine the functional impact of cognitive dysfunction upon work ability, academics, and instrumental activities of daily life (ADL’s).
Research-based assessments ensure that all tests, methods, and scoring procedures are uniform and precise, and that conclusions drawn from test results will be valid and reliable.
Tests of differing lengths are used in our assessment, depending on the nature of the referral. Patients can expect to participate in several hours of testing.
