Posted: Aug 17, 2016
Narsee Monjee Aptitude Test (NMAT) is conducted by Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) every year inorder to shortlist candidates for the MBA programs offered by many Universities and Institutes across India. Earlier the test was conducted by Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies to select students for its program.
There were many changes that were introduced once GMAC acquired the conduction of the exam. NMAT by GMAC can be attempted multiple times. The exam can be attempted by the candidates three times in an academic cycle. The score of the best out of three will be taken as the final score of the exam. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers and no marks will be deducted for unattempted questions. The candidates are free to choose the date, time slot and the venue of the exam from a given list. This enables them to be available for the exam.
Nmat exam has three sections namely the Language Skills, Quantitative Skills, and the Logical Reasoning. Each section is individually timed and the total time duration of the exam is 120 minutes that is 2 hours. Also, the total number of questions is 120. Candidates can choose the section they want to begin with and the order of the sections. The quantitative skill section has 48 questions and the time allotted to this section is 60 minutes, the Language skill section has 32 questions and the Logical Reasoning section has 40 questions, with the time allotted as 22 minutes and 38 minutes respectively.
The candidate must hold a bachelors degree from a recognized university or institute with minimum 50% marks in any discipline. Candidates who have work experience of minimum 2 years will be favored for admissions. Students in the final year of graduation may also apply.
