Infosys is Using Predictive Algorithms To Groom Its Next Gen Leaders
Posted: Aug 20, 2016
Infosys is taking a fresh new step to develop its next batch of top leaders; it has put in a new programme in place which will help them in identifying and fine-tuning their country’s next gen of leaders.
This move is rather timely when the former sets of leaders have been hit with the spate of high level executives exiting in the past few weeks.
In a recent interview with Economic Times the EVP of Infosys Krishnamurthy Shankar said that the new leadership programmes that the company is putting in place will try to groom and develop the leaders across various levels of the company.
The company EVP also stated that they are buying other various programmes which are helping the leadership to build their leadership skills. The main thing that they have done here is that they have tried to identify the top 25 people and have worked on their areas of development each of them will go through rigorous training as the company officials work to achieve their own potential. Mr. Shankar further said that it is a process which will take time and we have been working with each of them. He is a former Bharti Airtel executive who joined Infosys last year.
He further clarified that the new programmes would be separated from the current tie-ups that exist with Infosys and Stanford University on the executive leadership development. A national newspaper reported in July last year that a batch of 50 employees has already been put through the first level of training at Stanford.
They further revealed that "We have been working very close to the leadership team, it is not just about putting the programme in place but we want this programme to achieve some goals. In the next 3 to 5 years down the line we wanted to figure out what kind of leaders we want so, we are focussing on that area internally."
The use of predictive algorithms for better leaders:Shankar further revealed that Infosys has also developed a smart predictive algorithmic tool that can help the company reduce attrition, even when it prepares to roll out the several other Human Resource initiatives which will also include the new iCount app that will have a feedback feature.
They have also developed a predictive analytics tool or an algorithm which identifies the people who have higher chances of leaving.
