The article provides a comparative analysis of the three popular enterprise ecommerce platforms: Magento, Demandware and Hybris.

When we talk about enterprise platforms, we refer to the platform which is used by businesses to host their online storefronts where goods or services are offered for sale. There are a number of ecommerce platforms presently and it becomes difficult to choose the best. We give below a comparative analysis of three popular enterprise ecommerce platforms: Magento, Demandware and Hybris.

To begin with, it is not so easy to compare these three software considering the fact the each of these are different. So while choosing a platform for enterprise ecommerce, ecommerce specialists are of the opinion that you should choose one that is most suitable to your business, your products and services.

Magento: Let us start with Magento. It is an open-source, community-driven software. It is very popular in small and medium sized B2C companies. It is inexpensive and quick to set up an online storefront and any changes on the site can be done easily with or without much technical knowledge. Because it is an open source platform, most add-ons are available. However, the drawback of Magento is that it is not appropriately designed for complicated B2B pricing. Also, if the implementation is not done in a proper way, scaling Magento can be a big problem. Getting support is also quite challenging in Magento. So over a period of time, you end up paying more on highly customized implementations. While for B2C, Magento can be easily handled, in B2B, you require highly specialised team to look for database, web-server, and application level components. So for small-medium B2C businesses, Magento is a good option but the same cannot be said on large-sized B2B businesses. But even then, out of all the open-source contenders, Magento is the most popular one.

DemandWare: This is another popular enterprise ecommerce platform, especially for B2C retailers. This is the widely used B2C SaaS ecommerce platform. The basic advantages of using DemandWare are that it is very simple to support 3-tiered solutions like Magento and Hybris, it is quick to implement, and it has been making a strong move into Omni-Channel. DemandWare was basically designed for retail, and hence not suitable for complex B2B pricing. The revenue-share subscription model is better suited towards B2C than towards B2B. Thus for small-to-mid sized B2C retailers, DemandWare can be a solid choice.

Hybris: Hybris is a new entrant and it has many loyalists. Ecommerce consultants are of opinion that = http://www.eperiumindia.com/hybris>
