Know What To Carry During The Indian Trekking Tour

When in India, trekking is usually on the minds of adventure tourists and why not? The options that India offers right from rainforests to deserts to mountains to plateaus, is it a wonder that trekking has emerged as a clear favorite with tourists on India adventure holidays? India trekking tour has its charm; the scenic views, the rugged terrain and myriad plant and animal life is enough to leave a trekker on India adventure holidays gasping for more. But while on India trekking tour a visitor must also remember that a vast area where tourist go trekking usually will have little or no facilities. There are certain items that every tourist must carry to enjoy India trekking tours. It will also be great that trekking enthusiasts check with their guides or agents for specific information before deciding on the items to carry as they would be well aware of the special requirements. But in general, there are few things that one must carry irrespective of weather or the terrain like insect repellants, lubricating eye drops, mosquito coils, tents too in case you wish to rest at a particular spot, sunscreens, umbrellas and gloves also. Other than the usual stuff one must not forget to carry things like:

  1. Hats and sunglasses: Since on India trekking tour, you would be braving the sun for long (don’t think that low sunlight is fine), hence it is advisable to carry a hat (woollen if in cold and straw hat if in hot clime). Sunglasses are a must, as insects and sunlight can play havoc with the retina.
  2. Trekking boots: An absolute must have in case you are on India adventure tours. Solid trekking boots will go a long way in preventing blisters, corns and scratches which may become major irritants while enjoying the India trekking tour. They may even lead to an unpleasant medical condition.
  3. Wind and rain gear: Highly advisable if trekking is done in an unpredictable environment like rainforests where rain can lash any moment.
  4. Pocket/Swiss knife: Easy to carry, this would be a big help in case you are on India adventure tours. You may wonder what this may do, but small things work miraculously well in times of need.

5. Notebooks, pens, compass and camera: These things are equally important but the camera must be carried in a plastic cover to avoid damage from water. Compass is to help find direction in case one is lost while notebooks and pens (only ball pens) will help you note down anything of interest or emergency.

6. Sleeping bags: Extremely essential in case nightouts are what you are aiming at while on India adventure tours. Even when you are tired, these comfy bags will help you relax your body, mind and spirits. In any case trekking is a challenge in itself that will drain you to bones.

7. Extra underwear: Two or three pairs are a must but it also depends on the number of days you wish to go trekking while on India adventure holidays.

  1. Extra garments: Shirts, woolen sweaters and other wearable stuff must find a place in your bag while on India trekking tour.
  2. Mobile chargers and disposable batteries: In case you are not willing to disconnect with the outer world completely, while on India adventure holidays, then you must not forget to carry these essential equipments. These will allow you to remain connected with the world outside.
  3. Long cotton socks or full pants: A must have considering that rough terrain; mosquito or spider bites can create a nasty situation while you are on India trekking tour. Avoid wearing anything that exposes skin or attracts the insects to feast on your skin and blood. It will go a long way to make sure that your India adventure holidays are an enjoyable bet.
