N is a game in which the gamer controls a ninja who is cruising through tile-based levels. This a simple to learn game with a very entertaining game play. In N the main aim is to get to the next door within time. Better versions of this game have been released and they have the same game play but with a few added addition to make it more interesting and enjoyable. The new versions mostly comes with added levels and an allowance to enable games to add a level of their own. So spice up you N by being a master and eventually adding a level of you own. Controls are simply basic, with the use of the arrow keys, left arrow key moves left and right moves right with "K" is for suicide and up arrow key to move up. It looks like a piece of cake but too bad it has a time limit that is not easy to beat. Gold cubes have to be collected for a smooth run to the final door.

So the game play is to navigate through stile-based stages while avoiding obstacles that are on the way. A point to note this game is highly addictive. Once you play the game you will be tempted to keep playing it. While on the run the ninja has to keep collecting gold coins and he will finally get to the door and opens it to get to the next level. With a mixture of the moves discussed above while navigating through various terrains it allows the ninja to execute a various types of moves like, jumping between two walls, climbing on vertical walls and even sliding down a steep surface.

N is a wide game with one hundred episodes with each particular episode featuring five levels usually numbered (0-4). The total maps on N are five hundred of which four hundred and fifty are made by Metanet Software. The fifty levels that have remained are user levels picked by Metanet Software. The main aim of each level is to get to a point to trigger the switch to open the door and exit through it. All this should be done within the allocated time. In some other levels there are more than one exit door and switches, this gives the gamer a freedom to choose the route and the map to use. Each level in the game has an associated time limit of completion. The beginning level (0) has an allocated time limit of 90 seconds to finish the next five levels in it.

Gold cube collection is important because they can be used to add the time limit to complete a level. They increase the time limit by adding two seconds for every piece of gold cube collect. For example if you collect two hundred gold cubes then you completion limit is four hundred seconds. So while playing N the trick is make you ninja to collect as many gold cubes as he can since that might be what you need to complete the level. If you can get all the gold cubes the better and that is what it can take for your success in N. Time remained at the final level does not go to waste rather it is carried forward to the next level for use. There is an exception in this game and that is at the final level, here the time that is remaining is turned into point for your score in that completed episode.

N is a fun game and the gold cubes collected being turned into scores or time to complete a level is an ingenious way to use the cubes. User made levels are also supported in N. If you have completed a level and feel like it should have a twist then you can do it using a built in level editor named "N editor" or "NED" this might change due to versions update. The levels are added by modifying the text file that comes with the game and has user level data. Add the levels that you would desire if you are a pro and N more interesting for you and your friends.
