Musical Greeting Cards - A New Way to Convey Your Special Occasion Greetings to the Dear Ones
Posted: Jan 09, 2014
Music greeting cards are the new craze of the age, which offer a unique mode to greeting your friends and family on special occasions. Music cards have a significant benefit over the conventional greeting cards as these offers a lot of fun and excitement to the receivers. Children and adult all alike will find it as an adorable gift to be received on any happy occasions.
Musical Greeting cards are now the most exciting way to heighten the fun and thoughtfulness of any special occasions. The musical greeting cards consist of a small embedded electronic device, which plays a preloaded musical note when the card gets opened. This unit is powered with a small battery, which is replaceable. There are varieties of sound modules being used in greeting cards ranging from birthday songs to X-Mas jingles or Beethoven’s symphony.
However, the music card may be four or five times more expensive than the normal greeting cards, but the joy and excitement they offer to the receiver can surely make your investment justified. Offering one to the little kids on their birthday can surely be one of the best presents they will boast of. However, not just for children, there are specialized music greeting cards available for adult too. There is also some strange and funny stuff too available in the market if you want to try out a prank and make the most fun out of the event.
How does a music greeting card work?
Inside the card, there is a tiny electronic board with a customized circuit embedded on to it. The major components are a small silicone chip, a switch, a tiny battery to power the circuit, and a speaker. The push button switch is arranged in such a way that it switches ‘on’ as the card gets opened. It goes ‘off’ when the card is pressed closed. The battery used is commonly a small and thin round battery, which is soldered on to the circuit board. It can last for long as the electronics can work draining only a very little charge.
The speaker is a very small one like that of in the cell phones or even smaller. It produces the music by the vibration of a small diaphragm. As being very small, the speaker may not be able to efficiently produce the low notes as it cannot vibrate for low frequencies. So, the low-note melodies are not usually chosen for the music greeting cards. The chip is an integrated circuit, which is specifically designed for the purpose. The chipset has got a read-only memory, which contains the digital form (as mp3 or wave) of the music note. It also consists of a program to time the digital music to be played back to back as far as the switch is on.
On the other hand, general musical cards sold through the greeting card shops are more or less identical, and do not consist of any significant customized animation. The new-age music cards however are more advanced, and these are recordable. Such cards allow the users to custom record a short message or sound modules of their own, which can be played back by the receiver. This feature makes music greeting cards even more personalized and they are in high demand now.
