Use

After installation, keep off your newly sodded lawn for at least 10 days. Start mowing by entering the lawn for the first 3-4 weeks. If you have to walk on the sod, use a different path each time to ensure you are not disturbing any particular area. New sod should not be mowed immediately. Don’t mow your new lawn until 7-10 days after installation, and if your lawn is less than 7.5 cm in length it should not be mowed. The ideal length of new sod is at least 10 centimetres. Once the ideal length is achieved mowing frequency and height will be the same as established lawns. Lawns grow healthy when they are cut at 6-8 cm and should be mowed between 1-2 times per week, depending on the time of year. Don't remove more than 1/3 of the blade with each mowing session.

Aeration

One should hold off on aerating his new lawn until the roots are fully established. This could be the fall in some cases, or the following spring in others. Once the roots have been properly established aeration should be done as soon as possible to make sure any soil layers are eliminated.
