Telangana Government Begins Its Sincere Efforts To Make Hyderabad Slum Free?

HYDERABAD: Telangana government in its ambitious intend to provide housing for many and clear slums within the state, has religiously started attempting to make double bedroom (2BHK) housing projects scheme a reality, revenue officials have started making arrangements to shift slum-dwellers from 18 slums. To ensure that 5,934 flats would be built by June 2017 within several housing projects at Hyderabad’s 18 locations which presently has slum dwellers living in. Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy collectors and GHMC officials identified 18 slums in Secunderabad, Karwan, Goshamahal, Nampally and Sanatnagar Secunderabad cantonment,Musheerabad and Malakpet, LB Nagar, Chandrayangutta, Uppal, Yakutpura and Kukatpally assembly constituencies.

"The occupants have given consent to build the housing projects with 2BHK flats. We will obtain the land soon and start construction," GHMC commissioner B Janardhan Reddy told to the new person. The greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has roped in an NGO called SRACO to counsel the occupants of these slums and obtain their feedback on these upcoming housing projects in Hyderabad's slum areas.

"We are going to construct the flats either as G 3 or G 9 structures. Tenders have already been floated and may be finalised inside a month's time. Companies came toward supply cement at subsidised rates," he added."Because the housing scheme has been taken up by the government, a No Objection Certificate (NoC) from your Airports Authority of India is not required, but the corporation will send them an intimation in regards to this housing project springing up in the proximity of Hyderabad’s Airport.

In the Secunderabad Cantonment, a housing project with 2BHK flats would be constructed at Kattamaisamma Silver Compound in G 3 style. "For this too, NoC is not needed, however, if necessary, we are going to approach and consider the necessary clearance," the GHMC official said.

GHMC is expecting financial assistance from state and central governments would you contribute their respective share to complete all of the housing project in Hyderabad & Ranga Reddy Districts by 2017 June.Hyderabad district administration has already handed over a list of slum dwellers towards the GHMC for implementing the housing scheme and directed revenue officials to shift slum dwellers after issuing occupation certificates," sources inside the Hyderabad collectorate said.
