The ratio of men to women at NJIT is 3.2 to 1, and the likelihood of a woman enrolling to study this field was so unusual, that Moiseenko was one of only three females to earn her degree in the industrial engineering curriculum. Even more notable was Moiseenko’s work as a waitress to pay for her education, which she pursued for 5 years before gaining her degree. Fortuitously, Moiseenko was introduced to the head of Human Resources at ITT, a highly respected manufacturer of critical precision engineered components and technological fixes for industrial, transportation and energy applications in various venues.
