In the world of glitz and glamour, where avant-garde and couture culture is totally brimming with high-end fashion weeks and walks, an accessorizing culture is buzzing rhythmically that’s parallel to this world but abreast with a whole new idea of panache and poise. Meet Jyoti Saraf, the heart of the culture that’s christened lovingly as JoSa, speaking volumes about her touch to the art of accessorizing.

Here at JoSa, you can expect fresh fashion that’s unique, novel and minimalistic. We had a candid chat with the prima donna of JoSa, Ms Jyoti herself and here is what she had to say:

1. How has the Journey as a Designer been so far?

As the cliché goes – variety is the spice of life, and designing brings in a new perspective to the mundane. And that’s what has guided my career choices, beginning from food catering where I excelled in fondant art creating new designs on cakes. I studied interior designing at Raffles, where I honed my designing skills and worked as an interior designer at one of the leading firms in India.

Once you start understanding colors, shapes, and contours, then the world is your canvas, and I started designing bags and shoes for myself. Soon, I became the sole supplier to all my friends and family members. I started getting orders for trousseaus, and then with increasing demand, I decided to venture professionally in this field. In a matter of few months, I got an offer to supply my products to a boutique fashion store in Mumbai. To cater to pan-Indian markets, I started selling on online portals and am happy to have a repeat clientele across India.

Its only the start, but we are already considering to open a JoSa store in Mumbai, and are also discussing with leading designers to supply our products at their stores.

2. What made you cater the needs of those who love accessories?

As an avid lover of accessories, I realized that any new design in the market very soon becomes an "inspiration" for others, till it reaches a point where you feel that every store has similar stuff to offer. My objective is to bring a fresh perspective to the market with new designs, textures, fabrics, and themes. This is JoSa’s USP and no two JoSa bags are same. After all, no one wants to go to a night club or a party to see another girl flaunting the same bag or shoe that you have!
