Human feelings are so much sensitive and hence, we need to feel something special, valued and cared while communicating with other people around the world. Students in classrooms are on the same stage where they want to be cared and valued by their teachers. They spend around 5 to 6 hours daily and 5 days a week with teachers. Being a class teacher, you have the power to control the destiny and future of many students. When students feel that you are more concerned about their future and care for them as an individual, they are more interested to execute your wishes in terms of study or sports.

Communicating certain expectations

When a research has taken place on student achievements and teacher expectations, it is evident that a teacher’s expectations have a dramatic influence on the student’s academic performance. The behavior of students is also related to the heavy or large expectations of people that student meet in their daily lives. Considering every aspect of student behavioral activities and their daily life routines, it is essential for teachers to monitor their communication behavior along with all other expected activities.

Hostile impacts of negative relationship in between student and teacher

The end result of a negative relationship between student and teacher could be worse than we could think. In a classroom, when teacher and student needs to pay attention towards each other, if students are showing disinterest, frustration, anger and irritation, contrarily, teacher can give wrong or negative comment to student or they might show their anger in a more sour way. We all know that this could harm the knowledge level of student and student’s future will be affected.

How to nurture the positive relationship in the classroom

We can say that there is no way to set a positive relationship in the classroom overnight; neither is it any stuff that needs to be fixed in classroom. In order to nurture a positive relationship in the class, we need to put several ethical ingredients to make it positive and healthy. Proactively, they both needs to be involved and communicate with their thoughts.

For students

Decode your teacher’s mind

Student is never responsible or liable to know the teacher at different aspects or which may be academically, personally or socially. However, this is the first valuable step that students can take to start a healthy talks and then relation. When student involves in talks barring school studies and school, and ask about outside life of teachers, that gives a clear message that student is concerned about teacher as an individual.

Be careful while choosing words

In regular conversation with teachers, it is found that student speaks unkind worlds very frequently to show their frustration level and they also use sarcastic words that make everyone nervous and uncomfortable in classroom. These activities need to be cast aside however, that does not mean student cannot make jokes nor have fun during their classes.

Do not anticipate it to be irrelevant

Positive relationship in between student and teacher is not only beneficial for elementary school students; it is more beneficial for middle and high school students too. So it is important for all students to get participated in activities organized by teachers

For teachers

Being individualized with students

As much as teacher will get the information about scholar, it makes students and teachers cozier while building a relationship with each other. It is always good to talk to students and know their weakness before giving then failed grades directly. Students may become insidious if teachers don’t work on their weakness and get them out of that.

Accept your students

There are many students in one class and all have different perceptions and habits. Teachers’ complaint about student’s misbehavior, sarcastic comments in class or anything it could be. The situation can be avoided easily if teacher accept student’s comments and try to understand why they are commenting on it, if it is right, it is always good to accept and forget the situation

Take action before a negative behavior from a student

Teachers need not to wait for a student to exhibit execrable behavioral actions. Teachers need to initiate the proactive sessions on building different strategies and plans to promote a social education experience. Students are required to participate in these activities such as discussions, debating and answering questions curiously.

How students can value the teacher’s contribution

  • Since we already mentioned that it is human’s natural behavior to expect value from people who are significant. Similarly, teachers also have expectations to receive regards from their students they shared their knowledge and time of their life. If the teacher’s contribution is appreciated and valued in the classroom, teacher also praises the student’s participation and efforts in the classroom either
with assignment help or any other problems faced by students. No specific plans or strategies are needed to be built to show how much you value and hence, only small initiatives can make a big difference.

  • Show gratitude

A thank you with smile enchant from heart can be more powerful activity to build a strong relationship in the classroom. Manifesting your thankfulness for others and make them realize how much you value their efforts in academic is a tremendous way to encourage their self-conceit.

  • Show your smile

A person is always happy and feeling welcomed and acknowledged when you have smile on your face. Teacher will also feel great if you welcome them with a smile and it will surely help you both to understand each other in less time

  • Do not become insidious

At times, students are seen giving irrelevant excuses for not submitting their given tasks on time. Teachers are able to figure out who is honest or dishonest with their words since they dealt with numerous students.

  • Listen carefully

Active listening is a great steer to let others know how much we care for the person and about his opinions. If you give full attention to any person, it makes that person feel great.
