CMAT Candidates in Chaos after Surprise Notification
Posted: Oct 20, 2016
CMAT 2017 is relatively a new exam on the block. Exams like CAT, XAT or ATMA, are timeworn in terms of years of the establishment as well the no of students who got admission through these exams. CMAT is conducted by (AICTE) All India Center for Technical Education to select right candidates for over 1000 B-Schools who are approved by AICTE. The next CMAT was to be for two days January 28 and 29 2017, but with a release of notification they changed 29 January as a "Reserved Day." This change on the official site came without any warning and left all the candidates wondering about what is happening. However the officials at https://www.collegesearch.in/exam/cmat-2017have cleared that exam dates are not yet finalized, but it will one of the two I.e (28 or 29 January). The exam will be held on a single day and in a single sitting. AICTE has been experimenting with the conduct of CMAT from last year now. Online registration for the examination kick started on 10th of October 2016 and will continue until 10th of December 2016.
About 72000 candidates appeared in CMAT last year, and this in is expected to rise considerably this year. With more no of attempts and more no of seats to offer a great variety of colleges across India are major factors in the increase in no of application. Every year a lot of candidates fell prey to the confusion which exam to choose and which one they can skip. CMAT is considerably one of the easiest exams when we talk about other MBA entrance exams such as CAT, SNAP or XAT.
The candidates are required to pay a nonrefundable registration fee. This fee can be paid online through Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Net Banking or candidates can also pay cash in nearest SBI branch against the challan which will be generated online. The application fee Is as follows – Rs. 1400/- + Bank Charges (UR category) Rs. 700/- + Bank Charged (Reserved category)
candidates must be hoping that there is no such confusion from CMAT in future which could create a chaos amongst them.
