Plastic door strips are toxin free and put to a wide variety of uses
Posted: Nov 04, 2016
PVC or Polyvinyl chloride is the third-most globally produced plastic polymer of synthetic material and stands next to polyethene and polypropylene in that order. It is produced in two forms, flexible and rigid. Advanced technology has yielded plastic door strips made of flexible PVC material that are widely put into use to cover doors and windows in industries, business establishments and homes. Plastic strips as doors can seem somewhat unimaginable to traditional minds, but the effectiveness of their usage has meant a rise in demand for these strips and more and more people and industries are opting for them in place of more conventional doors.
Lightweight PVC Strip Can be Easily Opened and Shut
PVC strips which are free of toxins can be used to prevent foreign bodies from entering homes. The standard strips, when used to cover windows and doors, can efficiently cut off the entry of fumes, dust, insects and other foreign particles while they preserve the inside temperature at the optimum level. The plastic strips, while cutting off harsh sunlight and fumes, also allow enough light inside the rooms to increase visibility. As the PVC strip is light in weight, it can be easily opened and closed by kids and the elderly without the need to apply much force. For home windows and doors you can buy plastic strips in various colours and use them as a decorative element.
In industries, the strips have several roles to play, and the purpose and aim will vary with the selection. A cold storage unit, for example, will require strips that can keep the inside temperature at the desirable level so the air-conditioners don’t have to work overtime. Inflated power bills are the woes of these industries as the conventional doors prove ineffective in preventing cold air from escaping outside. They take too much time to open and close and during this time cold air seeps out of the rooms and the air-conditioners have to work hard to keep the optimum cold temperature. With plastic strips, you don’t have this issue as they part and close in a second or two and form a solid barrier to prevent temperature loss.
Similarly, food processing industries where the germination of bacteria is imminent can use the anti-microbial strips that would prevent their growth to get a clean working environment free of any viruses. Depending on the requirement these plastic door strips can be ordered in sizes varying from 200mm x 2mm to 400mm x 4mm and can be used effectively to increase safety and decrease power bills.
