Mercedes-Benz is a German automobile manufacturer and a multinational division of the German manufacturer Daimler AG. The Mercedes brand is used in producing luxurious automobiles, trucks, buses, motorbikes and coaches. Mercedes-Benz has its headoffice in the beautiful city of Stuttgart. It is located in the state of Baden-Württemberg, in Germany. MERCEDES car sales have risen up several times over the last few years in Indian market. With more and more demand of online used Mercedes the company has already launched smaller version of the world famous brand to reach more and more people willing to buy the car.

History

The name first appeared in the year of 1926 under Daimler-Benz but traces its origins to Daimler- Motoren- Gesellschaft's 1901 Mercedes and to Karl Benz's 1886 Benz Patent Motorwagen, better known as the first automobile. It is a part of the 3 famous best selling luxury automakers in the world, namely- Mercedes-Benz, Audi and BMW, together known as "German Big 3".

Mercedes became a majority owned division of Mercedes-Benz in 1998. On 1st January, 1999, the company was integrated into Daimler Chrysler and became Mercedes-Benz AMG. Between 2003 and 2009; Mercedes-Benz produced a limited-production sports car with McLaren Cars. It was an extension of the collaboration by which Mercedes engines are used by the Team McLaren-Mercedes Formula One racing team. McLaren ceased production of the SLR in the year of 2009 and went on to develop its own car, the McLaren MP4-12C, launched in 2011 and gained huge success as online used Mercedes category. Daimler's ultra-luxury brand Maybach was under Mercedes-Benz cars division upto 2013, after which the production stopped due to poor sales volumes. Besides its native Germany, Mercedes-Benz vehicles are also manufactured or assembled in various countries of the world.

Quality Management

Since its inception, Mercedes-Benz had maintained a reputation for its quality and durability. Mercedes used its objective measures looking at passenger vehicles, such as J. D. Power surveys, demonstrated a downturn in reputation in these criteria in the late 1990s and during the beginning of 2000s. By the time of mid-2005, Mercedes temporarily returned to the industry average for primary quality, a measure of shortcomings after the first 90 days of ownership, according to J. D. Power. In J. D. Power's Initial Quality Study for the 1st quarter in the year of 2007, it showed dramatic progress by upgrading from 25th to 5th place and earning several awards for its models. It also received the Platinum Plant Quality Award for its Mercedes’ Sindelfingen, Germany assembly plant. J. D. Power's 2011 US Initial Quality and Vehicle Dependability Studies both ranked Mercedes-Benz vehicles above average in build quality and reliability.

Models

Mercedes-Benz develops a full range of passenger, light and heavy commercial automobiles. Vehicles are manufactured in several countries worldwide and day by day the purchase demand for online used Mercedes has been increasing rapidly. Mercedes-Benz Trucks is now part of the Daimler Trucks division. It includes companies that were part of the Daimler Chrysler merger. Mercedes-Benz produces a wide range of buses and coaches, mainly for the market of Europe and Asia. The first bus model was produced by Karl Benz in 1895. It is to be noted that the Mercedes-Benz 600 or 600S Pullman Guard limousines offer a "bulletproof" option and have been used by diplomats worldwide. Mercedes-Benz produces a range of vans like the Mercedes-Benz Vito, Vario and Sprinter. In the year of 2012 it released the Mercedes-Benz Citan, which is a version of the Renault Kangoo. It originally built trucks, many of which were modified independently to buses, popularly known as Colectivo. Presently, it develops buses, trucks and the Sprinter van. With the craze of online used Mercedes, the Mercedes-Benz Accessories GmbH introduced 3 new bicycles in the year of 2005.

Motorsport

The two companies which were merged to form the Mercedes-Benz brand in 1926 had both already enjoyed success in the new sport of racing throughout their separate histories. Throughout its long history, Mercedes used its models in various motorsport activities, which include sports car racing and car rallies. Mercedes-Benz is currently active in three forms of motorsport, Formula Three, Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft (DTM), and Formula One.
