Ribboned Beanie with Holly Berry Pin – FREE Pattern
Posted: Nov 15, 2016
I made this beanie for my daughter and she loves it! The holly leaves and berries are just pinned on, after the holidays and planning party she can take it off and use the hat the rest of the winter without looking too Christmasy, or she can pin something else like a flower on the hat.
This hat is really easy to make using my favorite basic hat pattern from Ravelry by Christins from My Sweet Potato 3. I really love that pattern!
This time I added a round of triple crochet near the bottom of the hat so that I could thread the ribbon thru. You can make this hat in any size or color you want and add a coordinating ribbon. You can also add different pins to change the look as often as you like!
To make this hat use the basic hat pattern by Christins from My Sweet Potato 3 or your favorite hat pattern. Click here for basic hat pattern! But make the following adjustment to any size hat:
Add a round of Triple Crochet to the SECOND to last round of the hat pattern. Your last round will be SC then finish off with another round of SC then fasten off and weave ends in.
Weave ribbon thru 2 stitched (see photo) around the hat, tie ends into a bow.

Using needle insert into the 2nd sc you made, roll up and stitch into next crochet stitch, work piece in to a ball shape by weaving the needle in and around the other stitches and around the sides of the piece. When you have the ball pull yarn tight and sew on top of the leaves.
Add a pin or clip to the back of the leaves and attach to hat just above the bow.
