GNOSIS 2016 was hosted by XLRI, recently in Mumbai. This is an Annual seminar organized by the Finance Department of XLRI every year to facilitate an interaction between academicians and the veterans from the industry to discuss issues of relevance and ways to solve them.

The Keynote Address was delivered by P S Jayakumar, MD and CEO on the significant changes in the banking and financial services sector. This further was led by an eminent panel discussion on issues governing adequacy of capital and quality of assets faced by veterans from the banking sector. The panelists were from Standard Chartered, IDBI Bank, IDFC Bank, Bank of India moderated by editor of Bloomberg Quint, Miss. Ira Duggal.

The seminar consisted of participants who composed of delegates from banks and students from various B-schools across India in big numbers. Important speeches and discussions on integration of technology with the banking sector also highlighting the approaches undertaken by banks to serve that section of the population that has no access to banking services or privileges.

There was another panel discussion by startups belonging to the Financial Technology Sector such as Paytm, Bankbazaar.com, Heckyl Technologies, Fundsindia.com to mention a new famous names. They spoke on how they differentiated their identities and plans to scale up their respective businesses.

Six of the veterans who were the alumni of the XLRI were recognized and honored with ‘GNOSIS Excellence awards’ for their distinguished performance in the financial sector. The noted alumni belonged to Deutsche bank, Standard Chartered, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, Yes bank, IDFC to name a few.

XLRI Jamshedpur is one of the top 5 B-schools who have earned prestigious AACSB accreditation apart from a few reputed B-schools in India. It also is the proud bearer of AMBA registration.

Admission process for PGDM 2017-2019 is open and students can enroll themselves for the same by applying for Xat 2017 held on January 8,2017. The final candidates would be shortlisted on the basis of their scores. The registration closes on November 30 without late fees and December 11 with a late fee.
