Very much a resort in its own, Courchevel 1650 is thriving with life and a busy center with fab restaurants, shops, a supermarket, and bars with live music, where almost everything is slightly cheaper than the other satellite development a few hundred meters above. Offering spectacular views of the valley spreading down below and with excellent childcare and ski school facilities, Courchevel is a great family ski resort with an unbeatable, relaxed feel to bring your kids to and have fun, safety, and entertainment guaranteed and here is why:

1. Daycare Centers and Nurseries

Of the three first-class childcare centers overall in and around the resort, Les Pitchounets is run by the French Ski School (ESF) and is nestled in the heart of Courchevel 1650. You can trust them with your child (starting from 6 months and up to 6 years of age) for either a full day or just a few hours, with or without lunch. For infants (18+ months), Les P'tits Pralins de Moriond is a nursery with a lovely snow play garden that will make sure your child is well taken care of while you race down the slopes.

2. Water Park

It is amazing to feel that you can actually get involved in water sports in the heart of winter and with tons of snow completing the winter scenery. The Aquamotion Center is a water park just below Moriond at 1640 meters that is packed-full with both outdoor and indoor pools, saunas, hot tubs, a climbing wall, a diving pool, a sauna, a skating rink, a 3-lane water slide, a surfing area with a magnificent wave, and more; all features a child (and those young at heart) can only appreciate.

3. Ski for All Ages

Children under 5 can ski for free. For beginners, there are 2 ski rows available at Courchevel 1650 (Mickey and Belvédère). If you choose your little ones to join the basic classes with the ESF, they will get a free lift pass. They can also enjoy the snow gardens specifically created for beginners at the Magic Snowsports Academy and set the foundations of a great career in skiing or snowboarding!

At this point, it should be noted that Courchevel is the first ski resort that offers a magnetized vest for kids that they wear it over their ski suit so that they can be held to the chairlift with magnetism (as an extra safety precaution).

4. Other Off Slopes Activities for Children

There is a bowling alley set up for young tykes, a cinema, the winter adventure park, video games, piloting lessons, kite flying activities, and cooking lessons that can keep the children occupied and, why not, provide great opportunities to spend some fun, quality time as a family. Other than that, the mini-guide obstacle course will help release some extra energy with its ladders, suspension bridges, monkey bars, and a gigantic spider's web!

For something special, though, you could always visit the Indian camp and join Grey Wolf and his tribe for a Far West-like adventure!
