These bronchi have further branches called as bronchioles. The latter are dispersed all through the lungs. Finally, the inhaled air reaches the lungs.

When bronchi and bronchioles get attacked by some foreign particles or elements then problem of asthma arises in the body. It is characterized by constant coughing. It is a natural reaction of the body to clear the obstructions in the bronchi and the bronchioles so that the breathing process may be eased. Those who have family history of the disease are at high risk of developing this condition. Also people who get affected by allergies easily or show allergic reactions to some foods, medicines or external elements present in the atmosphere are more prone to suffer from this respiratory issue.
