Acne Products – How They Help Protect Your Skin
Posted: Dec 08, 2016
Acne is a common skin condition that can affect both teenagers and adults. It happens when the pores are clogged with sebum, which your body normally generates to lubricate hair and skin. Too much sebum will cause the formation of pimples, particularly on areas of the face with oil-producing glands like the chin, nose, and forehead. Acne products can help reduce the occurrence of pimples and protect your skin from scarring. Here are some examples of acne products that can help protect your skin:
Exfoliants and mineral masks – These can help you achieve vibrant and smooth skin as they remove dead skin cells that may clog pores and cause blackheads. Regular exfoliation is recommended if you want to improve the elasticity of your skin and its ability to absorb and retain moisture and nutrients. Look for a specially formulated exfoliant and mineral mask that is made with certified organic ingredients, and make sure that the active ingredients (i.e. oat powder, jasmine flowers, marshmallow root powder, corn meal, green tea extract, white kaolin clay, and stevia leaf powder) promote skin healing, softening, and nourishment. Skin Essence Facial in a Jar is a good example of an exfoliant and mineral mask in one.
Acne pellets – If you are not a fan of topical acne medication, consider taking a homeopathic remedy in the form of four-gram pellets. Look for a product that contains Echinacea angustifolia, viola tricolor, kali bromatum, selenium metallicum, and nux vomica. Homeocan Acne is one of the acne products that you can take as three pellets to be dissolved under your tongue for three times a day.
Specially formulated moisturizers for acne-prone skin – Even if you have acne, you still need to keep your skin properly hydrated and moisturized. Just be sure that you use products that are specifically formulated for skin that is prone to acne and blemishes. For best results, consult with your dermatologist, or seek an oil-free and lightweight moisturizer that is non-comedogenic, which means it will not clog pores. Consider acne products with hyaluronic acid and glycerin to hold moisture in your skin. Avoid those that contain mineral oil, cold cream, and cocoa butter.
