Paper cups have become an integral part of our daily lives. Today, you see them almost everywhere – trains, school, office, local hospital and several other places. They are usually preferred over plastic cups, as they can easily be disposed of after use. They do not cause any environmental hazards and can be recycled as well.

The use of Paper Cup can be traced back to early 1900’s. A paper cup is made by cutting paper and lining it up with a plastic or a wax to prevent spillage, leakage, soaking.

Types of Paper Cups

There are different types of paper cups available in the market today. There are cups that are exclusively designed for hot or cold beverages. They usually come with a wax coating on the inside to prevent dripping. Hot paper cups are designed keeping in mind the hot beverages. Usually insulated from the inside, they keep the cup warm and comfortable to hold.

How Does A Paper Cup Manufacturing Machine Work?

The manufacturing process starts when a large roll of paper having one side coated with plastic or wax back is thrust into a machine; the process usually forms the interior of the cup. These paper rolls are then fed into a printing machine that prints the manufacturer label on the paper. As soon as the paper is cut in small sheets for manufacturing cups, they are known as "flats". "Flats" are then stacked and fed into the system, where the machine rolls them into a cylindrical shape and seals them by heating up a plastic coat.

Paper Cup Manufacturing Machines

Paper Cup Making Machines come with computerized control; they have automatic procedures to feed, wash, heat, knurl, curl, unload. Also, they come in different capacities to design cups as per the required specifics.

Use of Computer Aided Design (CAD)

When it comes to the changes in manufacturing process, a recent development in the form of CAD can be seen. With CAD, technicians can design a good structure; including the desired size and volume of the paper cups. The major advantage of this software is that it creates a true life representation of the final good in a two/three dimensional pattern and can be used to draw complex to simpler structures.
