An adhesive, or glue, is a substance in a liquid or semi-liquid state that sticks or bonds two different surfaces together. Adhesives originate from either natural or synthetic sources. The materials that can be bonded are numerous but they are particularly useful for fastening thin materials.

Adhesive tape is one of many kinds of backing materials backed with an adhesive. In fact, several types of adhesives can be used. Adhesive Tapes can include a vast range of self adhesive tapes.

Basically, Adhesive tape is a strip of cloth, paper or any other material backed with an adhesive substance that enables it to adhere to different surfaces.

Pretty similar to air, especially oxygen is utilized almost everywhere, so is the adhesive tape. Consider the electrical systems for example. The use of specially designed isolating and insulating tape with pressure-adhesive properties is oftentimes, in use all over. It is typically black in colour, (though other colours are also found, which is why, it is sometimes called as coloured adhesive tape) made of either vinyl or plastic. Red and blue imply low voltage whereas brown, yellow and orange signify the opposite.

The adhesive tape found in hardware stores is a must-have as it is used for different applications for example making packages, insulating and sealing. You really have no need to worry about the sun's rays as it is impervious and also not affected by water since it is resistant to water. It comes in several models depending on which it can be used but others do have specific applications. However, make sure to consider its adhesiveness as it varies from one to another.

Insulation tape or coloured adhesive tape is a type of pressure-sensitive tape used to insulate electrical wires and cables. PVC Electrical tape possesses certain degree of electrical insulation due to the nature of PVC. PVC Tape is typically based on polyvinyl chloride film coated with rubber based pressure sensitive adhesive. It has an extensive adhesion, chemical and weather resistance and is suitably used in automotive and marine applications.

It can be used on a number of surfaces due to its non-corrosive nature which also makes them improbable to react with the surface they interact with. Low tack protection PVC tapes typically have a high tack but low adhesion which allows them to peel clean from most surfaces and adjust to textured surfaces quite well. Adhesiveness varies based on the activity you are doing. For instance, less strength is needed when sealing a carton than when connecting the composite materials. If you don't want to be concerned about it getting too hard to take off from the surface since it got stuck, take necessary precautions. If you are looking to buy a coloured adhesive tape, you can find a number of adhesive manufacturers in UK that sell these tapes at fraction of their real costs.
