Moreover, unlike nylon carpets, woolen carpets are made of natural fibers. Hence, when it’s about durability woolen carpets are considered to be more durable because the natural fibers have a lot of strength. Also, wool has high resistance to fire. But, all these benefits come at a price, apparently a hefty one, twice or more than the price of nylon carpets.

The other materials carpets are made are off include silk, jute, arylic, polyester, synthetic fibres and more. But, as far as durability is concerned Polyester fabrics are said to be the most durable fabrics of all.Cost wise silk carpets are the costliest amongst all.

Weaving Techniques of Carpets

Carpets are available in a variety of designs and the more intricate the design, the more is the cost. Popular carpet designs include the Kashmiri carpets which are famous for their use of vibrant colors and beautiful designs. Even the Turkish carpets are rich in design as well as colors and are said to be the oldest amongst carpets. The various weaving techniques used in making carpets include the hand knotted, hand woven, hand tufted as well as the newest of all the non woven carpets. Out of these, the non woven carpets are said to be the cheapest of all as well as having high durability.

Earlier carpets were used only for tables and walls, but later on they came to be used mostly everywhere as they always are a value addition to your home.
