There is another clause which extends the registration validity till fifty years from the date of publication especially if the content creator is no longer alive or forgotten works of an artist is being published for the first time.

According to the exclusive rights register in UAE, infringement of this act by any means such as publishing, re-publishing, photocopying, digital copies etc without the prior permission of the content creator can result in fine or appropriate lawful action against them. However, reproduction of the works for non- commercial use, by public libraries or by cultural, educations or even scientific institutions is permissible provided the number does not extend beyond fifty copies. Apart from this, the reproduction or the usage should not harm the interests of the content creator in any manner, whatsoever. Infringement, in the above manner may attract a penalty of 50,000 Dirham or omission of the content contravening the creator’s instruction attracts a fine of a minimum of 10,000 Dirham and/or imprisonment.
