Backed by a CNG kit, a sequential gas injection system, and a hi-tech Engine Management System (EMS) for switching between CNG & petrol, the Tata Nano eMax is by far the most fuel-efficient car in the country. Exteriors
The front and rear both are equipped with clear lens lights as well as body colored bumpers. Outside rear view mirrors are present on the driver and the co-passenger sides. Then there are the body-colored door handles, tinted glass, and full wheel caps. In terms of dimensions, it is 3099mm long, 1495 mm wide, and 1652 mm tall. While the wheelbase is 2230mm, the ground clearance offered is 180mm.
Interiors
As far as the interiors are concerned, the hatchback sports a premium black upholstery, ebony black dashboard, silver dust centre fascia, and ebony black CNG cylinder trims. Other features include electronic trip meter, digital fuel gauge, low fuel warning lamp, and three spoke steering wheel. In terms of comfort, the car offers all the standard features, such as air conditioner, power windows, cup holders, cabin lamp, sun visor on driver and passenger side, driver & passenger seats with slider and recliner, front/rear assist grips, variable intermittent wipers, rear parcel shelf, rear seat folding, dual glove boxes, integrated front & rear headrests, and headlight levelling.
Engine & Transmission
The main drawcard of the Tata Nano eMax is that the same 624 cc, two-cylinder engine, powers the petrol and the CNG. While the maximum power output is 33 Bhp for CNG and 38 Bhp for petrol, the maximum torque is 45 Nm for CNG and 51 Nm for petrol. It can run at a top speed of 105 kmph and can sprint from 0 to 60 km in 8 seconds and 0 to 100 km in 12.5 seconds.
Braking and Safety
For safety, it offers front & rear seat belts, radial tubeless tyres, centre high mount stop lamp, additional body reinforcements, and intrusion beams. The car comes equipped with booster-assisted drum brakes at the front and rear.
