Car sales in the United States have fluctuated wildly in recent years. Much of this is due to a turbulent economy and related changes that affect the amount of money that people are willing to spend on automobile purchases. Recently many people have been looking for signs that the economy is continuing to improve and hoping that the recent reports on car sales is an indicator that relief is on the horizon. Chrysler September sales increased to a level that the company has not seen since 2007. While many other car companies experienced a decrease in sales for the month, Chrysler experienced an increase.

According to Fox Business, Chrysler sold 143,017 vehicles in the United States during the month of September. This offers a slight increase over last year’s sales, up 0.7 percent. The dynamics of September sales for Chrysler changed a great deal from traditional sales. Traditionally, the company has always been known for its truck sales. However, during the month of September overall truck sales declined while car sales simultaneously rose by 3.47 percent. However, sales of the famed Dodge Ram rose by 8 percent. These sales exceeded all of the expectations of car manufacturers and experts alike, as many who specialize in projecting potential sales expected car sales to decline for the month. This is largely because September is traditionally a month that does not see an increase in car sales. Therefore, the fact that there was an increase may spell future success for Chrysler as well as other United States car manufacturers.

There are a number of plausible explanations for the increase in sales that have been experienced throughout the course of the last month by Chrysler. First and foremost, many individuals are tired of driving automobiles that are made in foreign countries and have made the decision to purchase vehicles that are made in the United States as a means of supporting the country throughout its economic recovery. Following the economic debacle that occurred several years ago which almost forced U.S. car companies to shut down, many citizens made the decision to take a stand and purchase automobiles only from U.S. manufacturers. This in turn has helped manufacturers such as Chrysler to avert disaster and increase their sales.

In addition, car manufacturers that can focus on a particular automobile with a legendary reputation have a tendency to make additional sales. Because Chrysler manufactures the Dodge Ram it is possible for them to see an overall increase in the sales of their vehicles based on the number of Rams that are sold each month. This is important because the Dodge Ram has a cult-like following and many individuals who purchase one make the decision to purchase the Ram again and again. This helps to cement Chrysler in a position where they can virtually count on sales of the Ram to help bolster sales of other vehicles.

Furthermore, Chrysler has spent a great deal of time and effort creating a comprehensive marketing campaign that is nationally known. Several years ago many of the cars that they manufactured were sold in relative obscurity. However, they have put forth the time and effort to create an effective marketing campaign that adequately demonstrates the different types of automobiles that they have available for sale. This has helped many individuals to become familiar with Chrysler automobiles who knew little about the brand before.

The company has also placed a great deal of importance on quality workmanship and customer service. Both of these things have helped to make them one of the leading car manufacturers in the United States. People who are pleased with previous Chrysler automobile purchases are likely to make another purchase. Moreover, word of mouth advertising helps to further increase their sales. Outstanding customer service is another way that they are able to attract new potential buyers and keep existing customers coming through their doors.

All of these efforts are combined in order for Chrysler to continue to increase its sales. In a time when most automobile manufacturers can expect to slow down significantly, Chrysler's September sales demonstrated the opposite and allowed the company to sell more vehicles than they did the previous September. As a result, the company is in a good position to continue to capitalize on its success and exceed the number of automobiles sold yet again.
