Admission in JNTUH

The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH) aims to provide an education provide advance teaching and learning in Engineering & Technology, Social and Physical Sciences by teaching, research and practical training so that upon graduation, the students possess a range of academic learning and applied knowledge.

JNTUH conducts the process of admissions into the regular M.Tech course, M.Sc full-time course, part time P.G Programmes and PhD programmes offered by various affiliated colleges of the university. The admissions for the programmes are based on GATE or PGECET/GPAT/ICET rankings. The admissions to B.Tech programmes are made at the rank obtained in Engineering, Agriculture and Medicine Common Entrance Test (EAMCET).

Apart from the above Part time/Regular/Sponsored admissions into various Undergraduate/Postgraduate/PhD programmes, various MOU organisations in collaboration with Jntuh also undertake admissions in the programmes mentioned above through the same selection process.

The eligibility criteria for the offered courses are mentioned below:

1. B.Tech Course:

  • The admission to various colleges in B.Tech course under the University will be through EAMCET, and the counselling will be done on the basis of rank obtained by a candidate.

  • The eligibility for the test is: 10+2/intermediate/CBSE/ICSE qualified candidates.

  • The branches available for engineering are: Civil, Electrical and Electronics, Mechanical, Electronics and Communication, Computer Science, Metallurgical, Information Technology, and Mining.

2. M.Tech Course:

  • The M.Tech courses can be done either full-time or part-time as per the choice and feasibility of a candidate.

  • There is also a sponsored category for which the eligibility is that the applicant must have 2 years of work experience and must be sponsored by the organisation in which the applicant is working.

  • The course of choice can only be obtained by a candidate on the basis of marks scored by a candidate in the entrance exam.

  • The engineering specialisation offered are: Electrical Power, Thermal, Signal and System, Geo-Technical, Power Electronics, Digital system and computer electronics, Metallurgy, IT, Structural, Transportation, Engineering Design, Infrastructure, Advanced Manufacturing Systems, Energy Systems, Embedded systems, computer science and Urban Transportation.

3. M.Sc Course:

  • The admission to the four-semester full-time specialised streams of M.Sc is done through entrance exam.

  • The accepting colleges under JNTUH are: Institute of Science & Technology, College of Engineering Hyderabad and Centre for Earth Atmospheric & Weather Modification Technologies.
