Enjoy the Distinct Seasons in New York
Posted: Mar 30, 2017
It’s the city that never sleeps, and that holds true during every season. As you’ll see from this article, a student tour in NYC can be enjoyed during any period. Here are a few bits of information about what to expect from each time of year.
Fall
Autumn is a glorious time in the Northeast. People in this part of the country tend to be done with hot, sticky weather by summer’s end, and therefore welcome cooler breezes. The especially nice thing about fall is although the days are often still quite warm, they usually don’t cross the line of becoming uncomfortable. A little north of the city and further upstate, farm workers are busy handling incredible harvests. Fresh fruits like apples and pears start to show up alongside pumpkins and squash in farmer’s markets. When the leaves start to change colour, it’s an especially marvellous time to be in the area.
Winter
Some people write off winter as a season only fit for travel to a ski town or tropical beach. The Big Apple is different, though, offering much to do during the cold season. There are plenty of ways to get around as well, even during periods of snowfall. Occasionally, a big storm will dump inordinate amounts of the white stuff, but that tends to be a rarity anymore. Watch ice skating right out in the open. Catch live music in any number of indoor venues. Nothing prevents visitors from carrying out shopping marathons when the weather is ridiculously cold outside. Really, a lot of the sights tourists come into the city for at other times of the year are still open, only with less people. Perhaps it wouldn’t be that bad of an idea to book a museum student tour in NYC during winter after all?
Spring
Once spring is in the air and the snow finally clears away, Gotham starts to see its fair share of joggers and bicyclists. Perhaps the end of a busy basketball season has them jazzed. Visitors also start to come in droves, and for good reason. The city is gorgeous when the flowers are in full bloom. Multi coloured buds start popping out of trees, but not for long, so you’ll have to catch it while you can. NYC trips for students during this season can include a balanced mix of indoor and outdoor activities. This time of the year also happens to bring along with it a good variety of fresh produce, so be sure to eat your fill of delicious products like strawberries and asparagus.
Summer
When summertime is in full swing, it seems like every corner of the city has something going on. A student tour in NYC could include an art fair, concert in the park or charity event. Thankfully, there are plenty of retail spaces with air conditioning, so if the heat gets to you, go ahead and rest for a while.
It’s clear that New York City has plenty to offer for every season. Once you have an idea for when you want to visit, take to the web for ideas and start planning your big city itinerary. just Click Here for NYC trips for students
