Dental bridges are installed on the location where a tooth is missing, in order to bridge the gap between two or more normal teeth and the missing teeth. There are different types of dental bridges installed by Zirconia dental clinic and each of these requires that the recipient or patient have good oral dental health and strong bone support. This is because installation involves removal of some protective tooth enamel, and people without a good dental health and teeth bone support may not qualify for such a removal.

Below are the different types of dental bridges available from Zirconia dental clinic.

1. Traditional bridges: These are the most common types of dental crowns and bridges and are made of porcelain or mental crowns. In this case, the gap where the bridge is fitted is found in between two or more natural teeth. The bridge is held together by dental crowns that are cemented onto the teeth adjacent to the fake teeth or pontics. They can be used to replace molars because they are very strong. However, the dentist must prepare the adjacent teeth to make this replacement necessary. Again, the teeth whose enamel is removed to make room for the crowns will need to be protected always by the crowns because the natural enamel doesn't grow back.

2. Cantilever bridges: These are used when the abutment (natural teeth from which Zirconia dentists remove enamel) exist only on one side of the gap on which the pontic (fake teeth) is to be placed. The dentists from Zirconia dental clinic will still attach the dental crowns and bridges onto the teeth on one side. However, since they are supported on one side, you should be wary of complications like fractured teeth or loosened crowns.

3. Maryland bridges: A metal or porcelain framework is used to hold the pontic tooth in place (on the gap). The framework is then bonded onto the backs of two adjacent natural teeth. In this case, the operation does not involve filing of teeth to remove enamel since crowns are not used to hold the pontic. These types of dental bridges are considered conservative alternatives to traditional dental crowns and bridges. Some of the disadvantages of using these types of bridges include limited strength because the resin holding it is weak. As a consequence, the bridges may not stay in place if they replace molars, because molars are subjected to a lot of biting force.

4. Implant-supported bridges: Instead of crowns or frameworks, dental implants are used to support the dental bridges. The procedure is used by Zirconia dentists to replace more than one tooth missing. One implant is placed for each missing tooth and the series will support the bridge. If it becomes impossible to place an implant for every lost tooth, the dentists will suspend the pontic between two implant-supported crowns. They are secure and comfortable for the reason that they are secured by implants. You will undergo two implants to place these implants, the first one to place the implants and the second to place the bridge. This means you could wait for at least five months to have the procedure finished.
