Organic chemistry for IIT JEE is the learning program for the study of the properties, structure, composition, preparations, and reactions of carbon-containing compounds that not only includes the hydrocarbons, but also compounds with a number of other elements such as nitrogen, hydrogen, oxygen, phosphorus, halogens, silicon, and sulfur. The field of chemistry was basically limited to the compounds formed by the living organisms but currently, has broadened consisting the human-made substances like plastics. The series of organic compounds application is huge, together with pharmaceuticals, food, petrochemicals, explosives, cosmetics, and paints. But the field is not just limited to these compounds only. At certain points, the difference between the organic and inorganic chemistry is confusing, unclear, and overlapping. For instance, organometallic chemistry includes both the organic and inorganic aspects. Though not every carbon reactions are said to be organic, and therefore, another way to understand the organic chemistry is to consider the field as the study of molecules that contains the carbon-hydrogen or C-H bond and their reactions after combining.

Organic chemistry for IIT JEE is important as the field consists the study of all the chemical reactions associated with the life. Several career options are available like veterinarians, doctors, pharmacologist, dentists, chemists, and chemical engineer after studying and understanding the organic chemistry. Organic chemical compounds are used for developing common household chemicals, plastics, drugs, foods, fuels, cosmetics, rubber, detergents, dyestuff, coatings, agrichemical industries, and the list goes on. Some part of biotechnology, biochemistry, and medicines are based on organic chemical compounds and their role in the process of life. At present, most of the modern and high-tech components are partially composed based on the organic compounds. The chemical industry is crucial to transform the raw materials such as natural gas, oil, water, minerals, and metals into more than 60,000 different products. Produced base products are further used to create consumer products in addition to construction, manufacturing, services, agriculture, and other industries.

The Scope of Organic Chemistry for IIT JEE:

More than 50% of the World’s total chemists are organic chemists. The study of organic chemistry consists study of more than twenty million compounds which the properties are determined for and recorded in the literature. Every day hundreds of new compounds are added. The new organic compounds are insulated from plants or animals, in which some are produced by changing naturally occurring chemicals, though most of the newly generated organic compounds are essentially synthesized from other organic molecules in the laboratory. Thus, within a few years, organic chemists had built a wide array of reactions that lets them making all sort of complex products from the base materials.
