Families often want to go out and enjoy on weekends and during children’s school holidays. Irvine has a lot to offer families for enjoyment including the below mentioned 10 activities.

Orange County Zoo

The Orange County Zoo opened in 1985. The zoo takes a little over one hour to visit, and they features tigers, lions and more. The best news is that admission into this zoo is inexpensive.

Orange County Great Park

This park has dozens of events going on throughout the year. The park has many attractions such as a playground, balloon ride, ponds, viewing pier, carousel and more. There's several new attractions that are currently being built.

UCI Arboretum

The UCI Arboretum is a botanical garden that's over 12 acres. The only downfall is that this attraction is only open during quarterly open houses.

Bommer Canyon

Bommer Canyon is for outdoor enthusiasts. The trail can be hiked for miles, but it can be cut short for a family activity. Some trails are self-guided. Other trails require a guide. Guided programs require pre-registration. These hiking trails also allow bikers.

K1 Speed

K1 Speed is open seven days a week. K1 Speed has two professional indoor go-kart racing tracks. For those who don't want to ride, visitors can enjoy their museum and snacks. The place also has televisions to keep you entertained if you aren't interested in riding.

Pretend City Children's Museum

This is probably one of the best family activities to enjoy in Irvine. This museum will teach children valuable skills they'll need in the real world when they get older. Children will get the opportunity to work, buy groceries, visit the doctor and collect their earnings from an ATM.

Adventure Playground

There's many activities to enjoy at Adventure Playground. The playground has slides, climbing poles, a tree house, sensory garden, art wall, fort zone and more. This isn't your traditional playground.

Heritage Park

Heritage Park is another place in Irvine that has many activities for families to enjoy. Heritage Park features three pools, three soccer fields, 12 tennis courts, one volleyball court, a playground and much more.

Woodbury Community Park

Woodbury Community Park is similar to Heritage Park, but they don't have as many activities. Woodbury Community Park has over 10 acres to explore, and they also have basketball courts.

Harvard Skate Park

Harvard Skate Park has over 10,000 square feet of skating surface. It's one of the top skateboarding parks in Orange County. The park does have rules and hours vary. You can visit their website for more information.
