The Different Kinds of Crystal Cup Trophies

There are quite a few designs out there for crystal cup trophies, with many sharing several similarities. There are, however, quite a few variations worth noting. Here are some of the more common ones you need to be aware of if you are planning on commissioning one or more for your needs.

Loving-Cup – these are identified by the presence of two handles on the side. They get their names from loving cups, which are shared drinking vessels originally used at banquets or weddings. The distinctive twin handles have now become the most common feature for awards around the world. If you need a design that will get the job done, then this may just be what you are looking for. Bowl – bowls are similar in shape and size to their more common counterpart above, except they don’t have the twin handles. This slightly reduces the cost and apparent elaborateness of the piece, but they can make up for this in size and simplicity. This is an ideal choice if you want a sleeker and more solid aesthetic for your crystal cup trophies.

Sculpture – these are pieces bearing a miniature sculpture on top of the whole piece. The sculptures themselves are varied, from displaying athletes participating in the event to an iconic symbol of the sport, like a football or pair of tennis racquets. This line of crystal cup trophies is designed to visualize events or sports in such a way that even a complete layman will be able to understand the value of the award itself.

Columned – these are more elaborate pieces with columns supporting the whole thing. This gives the award much more weight and substance, making it much more significant. This is especially true when the columns are stacked on top of one another, making the piece even more impressive (and costly) with each successive stack.

3D Crystal cup trophies – the great thing about crystal glass is that patterns can be engraved inside the medium itself. This allows for various borders, highlights and inserts inside the polished, protective confines of the piece. This is an option well worth exploring, especially since this option is not available for awards made from other more solid materials.

Perpetual – these are awards passed on to the winners of annual events, with permanent ownership being bestowed upon those that manage to win the same event at least three times in a row. This particular line is the most elaborate of all kinds of award pieces, with plaques commemorating the winners and various other decorations lavished upon it. This makes it the most expensive but also the most memorable and significant.
