According to KPMG Wellness Sector report, Indian beauty and wellness market would reach Rs 80,370 Cr by 2018 from Rs 41,224 cr in 2013. Wellness industry has a potential to grow and spread through the country, the accumulative benefits come with a major challenge of quality manpower which is the demand supply gap of trained staff.

The government has allocated Rs 48,853 crore for health and family welfare for the year 2017-28. As per to the government’s latest step towards improving the current wellness status in India, the wellness industry which is currently seeking a lack of trained professionals will be better equipped with the knowledgeable manpower to correctly guide the customers.
Another point to be included in the positive effects list is the Goods and Service Tax which will be introduced in the future will affect the industry positively. The decision to roll out GST will prove a great benefit in terms of reducing the overall tax implication on the wellness industry, it will surely reduce the involvement of various governments authorities and laws giving an open space to the sector to expand rapidly. Supporting the wellness industry by the union budget 2017, the Indian Government has shown a clear-cut attitude towards the growth, further securing a better path!
