Visiting a Fairy Garden Greenhouse

The first time I had the pleasure of walking through the fairy garden section of the greenhouse, the beauty and the neat organization of all the miniature garden accessories blew me away. This place makes it very easy to believe in fairy tales. It also brings your imagination to the forefront of your mind as you wander between miniature plants, fairy houses, and unique fairy scenes that trigger fun memories of stories told to you during your childhood. The greenhouse, being as large as it is, takes some time to get from one end to the other, especially if you are stopping and observing each individual fairy garden provided by the creative staff that works within the greenhouse. I have spent most of a day wandering from shelf to shelf with my mother and selecting items to create her first fairy garden.

I spent my time at the greenhouse examining mini garden accessories and selected a few of my own to dress up my future gardens. It was a wonderful and beautiful summer day, and I spent the rest of my time there enjoying the gardens that surround the greenhouse. Not only did this venue inspire my miniature garden craft, it also helped to inspire updates I have made to the rest of my yard. Our house was previously a rental property and due to that, it only came with a small grove of trees and rock landscaping surrounding our home. After my trip wandering around the greenhouse, I started adding to my shopping basket bright flowers, tiny green bushes, and other miniature plants that help the bee population.

Due to my very overactive imagination, I had plenty of material for future blogs after seeing these masterfully created miniature garden scenes. It was easy to spend time daydreaming about the fairies and gnomes who lived within these small spaces and what their lives could be like. I saw a scene, in the Fairyhood, with a small pond and a white bridge going across the water. Bordered with neatly pruned miniature plants, a yellow fairy house looked as though it was hidden within the foliage. I could see this female fairy, in a flowing white sundress and white wings, spending the day appreciating nature and enjoying the beauty that surrounds her. Perhaps this Flower Fairy spends the evening hosting formal garden parties for all her neighborhood friends.

While at the greenhouse, I found it was energizing to wander from small garden to small garden. I would picture the lifestyles and habits of the fairies that live within these special garden containers or landscapes. So many miniature gardening ideas popped into my head that I became anxious to start designing and planting fairy gardens.
