4 Struggles of Highly Intelligent People

Posted: May 04, 2017
Intelligence is not something that you are born with. It is an acquired trait. The more you involve yourself in understanding the complex patterns of the universe, the more your mind starts working. The more it starts working, the more intelligent you become. But with intelligence, there are some struggles too. All intelligent people have to face these struggles, for people do not recognize their potential. These are the struggles that highly intelligent people have to face.
Small talk exhausts them
One of the most important struggles that highly intelligent people have to face is getting involved in a small talk. It is indeed a gigantic challenge for them to be a part of a small talk about ordinary things of life. Their mind is so overwhelmed with great ideas and thoughts. Topics like art, science, and philosophy interest them to an extent that they feel like talking about them the whole day. They do not find the same kind of pleasure in discussing about ordinary things of life. Discussions about these ordinary things make them feel as if they are wasting their time trapped in a never-ending list of acceptable societal norms which suffocates them. They like challenging the status quo. They like thinking out of the box. They like bouncing their ideas around with another like-minded person about the stuff that matters to them, and interests them.
They think more than they speak
Another most important struggle that highly intelligent people have to face is that they think more than they speak. Their brain is wired in a way that they look for all possible solutions and answers to a problem that they face. A person of average intelligence cannot draw a conclusion or form his opinion so quickly than a person of higher intelligence. When they are not sure, they have come up with a right answer or a brilliant idea, they do not speak at all. Their struggle lies in the fact that their intelligence is hardly recognized by the people living around them, making them feel uninterested, weird or introverted.
They easily get bored
Another struggle that people of higher intelligence have to face is that their brain constantly remains in pursuit of great and new ideas. They get bored very easily. They want a change. They do not get attached to a particular idea for a long period of time. Once they are done with any idea, they want another idea. They cannot stay with that idea forever. They constantly challenge their minds to come up with some exciting and challenging ideas and thoughts. They love philosophizing almost about everything that exists in the world.
They sometimes have action paralysis
Another struggle that highly intelligent face is that they sometimes have action paralysis. It is really difficult for them to retain their position of a thinker in this world where there are a plenty of go-getters who appreciate action more than great, powerful ideas. Their thinking ability, at times, stops them from channelizing their action impulse. It is not out of their sluggishness that they do not act, it is because of the fact that their brains are wired differently.
