Marty also served for nearly thirty years in the United States Military, earning vast senior executive management and leadership experience at all levels of service. Over the past last decade, Marty has placed an emphasis on improving human performance in the workplace through technology solutions. He has carried out command and operational assignments at all levels within the military and served eight combat and operational tours in Panama, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Africa, and Afghanistan.

On 30 September 2014, Marty Schweitzer retired from the United States Army with the rank of Brigadier General. When he retired, Marty was serving as the Deputy Director for Regional Operations, J3, Joint Staff, and the Pentagon. This assignment required the daily management of all global military risk for the United States. During his time with the Pentagon, he worked closely with all combatant commands, the uniformed Services, Office of the Secretary of Defense, and many interagency organizations to ensure all daily necessities of today's modern warfighter were addressed.
