Piling work is one of the fundamentals of any infrastructural development as through this process the base of the structure is bolstered. By implementing Prestressed Rock Anchors, steel reinforcements and concrete mazes, the buildings are built up to the likes of sky itself.

Rock anchors play very important part in stabilizing the structure.

An Anchor can be defined as a system used to transfer tensile loads to the ground, through prestressing steel, anchorage, corrosion protection, bond breaker, spacers, centralizers and grout.

There are several types of anchors which are used in the field of infrastructure. Lets take a look at some of them.

  1. Downward Sloped Anchor: Any prestressed anchor, which is inclined greater than 5 degrees below the horizontal are used as downward sloped anchors.

  1. Fully Bonded Anchor: The anchor in which the free stressing length without bond-breaker is surrounded by grout, which after stressing is bonded to the surrounding structure or ground, is called as Fully Bonded Anchor.

  1. Permanent Anchor: These anchors are prestressed anchors which are used while the its use is permanent in construction. Permanent anchors generally have the shelf life of at least a 24-month service life.

  1. Temporary Anchor: Even these anchors are prestressed anchors, but they are deemed for temporary use. Their use-span iis generally defined as having a service life less than 24 months.

  1. Unbonded Anchor: An anchor in which the free stressing length remains permanently unbonded to the surrounding ground or structure is called as unbonded anchor.

  1. Upward Sloped Anchor: Any prestressed anchor, inclined greater than 5 degrees above the horizontal is called as Upward Sloped Anchor.

All these different types of anchors are to be used for different purposes & functions. If a wrong anchor is placed at a wrong place, then it can endanger the integrity of the entire structure. Hence, it is expected that the Piling Contractors in Mumbai should know the appropriate uses & techniques related to anchors. Because the quality of the construction depends on their expertise and understanding of rock anchoring process.

In addition to be well-versed at the technique of rock anchoring, the contractors must also know the materials which are required for the process. Following is a list of the materials and supplements which are required for the rock anchoring process.

  • Bearing Plate

  • Rock anchors of your choice

  • Drill and drilling bits

  • Grouting material

  • Restraining bolt

  • Tendon

  • Anchor Head

  • Bolts

Another aspect of the piling process is the excavation process. Without excavation, there wont be a space for the structure to set its base in. If there is not enough space,then the required hold wont be established, endangering the building. Hence, its is very important that the excavation contractors are to pay attention towards proper earth removing.
