Manaslu Tsum Valley Trek Permits

Since, Manaslu Tsum Valley Trekking is restricted area trekking, trekkers need to obtain permits to enter the region.

  • Travelers must accompany the registered trekking agency in Nepal to go for the trek

  • RAP $70 for 1st week and $10 for every additional week. In case of non-touristic season, permit fee declines to $50 and $7 thereafter. The checkpoint is in Jagat and checkpoint out is at Dharapani.

  • Travelers must be at least in a group of 2 people and must accompany a registered guide or porter

  • MCAP & ACAP permits – RS 2,000 each. MCAP is for Manaslu Conservation Area Project and ACAP is for Annapurna Conservation Area Project

  • TIMS card is not needed for restricted area trekking in Nepal. If you travel at non-restricted area, you must get TIMS.

Best Season for Tsum Valley Trek in Nepal

September, October & November in autumn and March, April, May in spring are best month of the year to visit Manaslu Tsum Valley. Limits are at monsoon (June to September) and winter snow and lodge closure (Larkya Phedi, Bimtang) from December to late February.

Physical Condition & Experience Requirements for Manaslu Tsum Valley Trekking

Trekkers have to walk for at least 6-8 hours every day at Manaslu Tsum Valley Trekking. You need good physical strength and determination to complete the trek successfully. The major problem might be altitude sickness (AMS). Manaslu Tsum Valley Trek after Earthquake

Manaslu Tsum Valley Trekking trial was destructed by the earthquake followed by landslide at the lowe part of Manaslu Valley. Still the Upper part is safe and there was very few destruction. The swing bridges and teahouse are operating safely these days.

Manaslu region has sustained damage caused by earthquake and landslides and the trail and lodges have been repaired and many trekkers have successfully completed the trek in 2016.
