Volleyball Uniform Decoration Rules

Volleyball Uniforms speak a lot about the team which is represented by the same. It is essential while you are designing the uniform of your team, it is representing the team spirit and style you are willing to convey. Knowing the rules can will play an indispensable role in assuring that the team is in compliance with general rulings. You need to keep in mind that rules can differ from one organization to the other. Following are the general rules which can be expected from an organization while designing these uniforms:

The basis

A standard high school Volleyball Uniform comprises of shorts, jersey, socks, gym shoes and knee pads. The jersey may hang under the waist or may be tucked in. The color of the undergarments should be matching the primary color of the uniform.

Logos, numbers, and trademarks

The number location should not be over 5 inches under shoulder seam.

  • The front number should be 4 inches minimum along with contrasting color with the top.
  • The back number should be 6 inches at least along with contrasting color with the top.
  • The number width should not be below 3/4 inches at the narrowest point.
  • The number border width should not be more than 1/2 inch at trim solid color, widest point and comprise of 2 colors.
  • The number range should not be over 2 digits.
  • It is not essential to use numbers on tops. However, it is mandatory to use them on top.
  • Shoes and accessories

    Shoes are a prerequisite. The headbands should not have a width of over 2 inches. Undecorated flat clips which are shorter than 2 inches may be used for securing hair.

    Rules for college volleyball uniform

    Players' Equipment, Rule 7

    The standard volleyball uniform for a woman should comprise of briefs or shorts, jerseys, culottes or pants, one or two pieces. Gym shoes are not a prerequisite. However, they are recognized to be an essential element of volleyball uniform. Uniforms must be of identical style and colors that come with exceptions.

    Logos, numbers, and trademarks

    It is mandatory that the jersey should be displaying a number which is at least 4 inches high on the front, 6 inches centered and high on the back. Though both the numbers are same, they should have at least 3/4 inches in width at the narrowest point. The numbers of team players must be of identical size and color.

    The lettering and logo of the manufacturer on the volleyball uniforms need to be identical. Since socks, shoes and knee pads do not count to be a part of the uniform, they do not need to be identical. It is a must that the exposed undergarments should be meeting specific standards,

    Clothing which is worn by student athletes at a competition should comprise of distributor logo or manufacturer or trademark on the outside of uniforms, irrespective of visibility. It should be present within the 2-1/4-square parameter.

    Special insignias and Commemorative patches can be worn without any restriction as long as they are consistent and safe with every uniform on the team and does not block a number and is present within one sq. Inch.

    Headgear and jewelry

    It is illegal to wear any equipment, headgear, and jewelry which may pose a danger to the player or let the player taken an undue advantage while playing. It is a must that allowable metals should be removed from chains and secured under the uniform. Jewelry are a strict no. Hair pieces which are used in securing the hair are allowed only. Sweat or headbands are however allowed. It is a must to secure beads in braided hair.
