When it comes to treating anxiety disorders, there are a number of anti depressants medications. It must be remembered though that they can only act on the symptoms causing such anxiety and may not totally cure it. Medications like venlafaxin and generic effexor have been found to work excellently for patients undergoing different types of depression and anxiety disorders.

The mode of working of anti depressants medication needs to be understood. The human brain depends on a number of neurotransmitters for various emotions and feelings. Some of them are serotonin, dopamine, norepinephrine, noradrenaline and so on. In normal human beings, when these chemicals are released and reabsorbed into the blood cells, their levels do not drop to an extent that creates problems within the individual.

However, in people suffering from any kind of anxiety disorders, the levels of these chemicals produced are lesser and when they get reabsorbed back into the blood cells, there is hardly any left to keep them experiencing the emotions associated with each of these neurotransmitters. Consequently, you have them suffering from panic attacks, depression, insomnia and other such disorders.

Generic venlafaxine for instance is one of those SNRI or selective noradrenaline reuptake inhibitors that ensure the levels of circulating serotonin and noradrenaline remain at the desired quantity. This enables the person to feel good and he or she does not experience the discomfort and apprehension associated with sudden panic attacks or anxiety disorders.

There are different types of SSRI and SNRI medications. The SSRI or selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors work similarly by restricting the reabsorption of serotonin and keeping sufficient levels floating in the bloodstream. Certain SSRIs impact more than one neurotransmitter while others work on specific neurotransmitters.

Venlafaxine hcl dosage is used to treat anxiety disorders as well. The dosage needs to be maintained for 6-8 weeks to start with and depending on the severity of the condition. Those taking such medication venlafaxine also need to be aware of some of the side effects and be mentally prepared to face them. They should not quit taking venlafaxine hcl dosage on their own due to these side effects and act only as per their doctor's guidance.

Most of the patients find any one of the anti depressants medication effective and become used to it. They find that there is improvement after some weeks of dosage and they are also able to tolerate the side effects. The dosage in most cases is gradually increased based on the response and improvement shown by the patient.

People suffering from panic attacks, social anxiety, insomnia, depression, general anxiety disorders have all found anti depressants to be useful. The key lies in not getting addicted to such medication and using them strictly as per the advice of the doctor. Withdrawing medication venlafaxine too has to be a gradual process and it is not recommended that the dosage is stopped abruptly. Withdrawal symptoms need to be tolerated by the patients for some time as well.
