Denpasar Bali is the capital and main hub of the ever-popular Bali, a tropical island in Indonesia. To the south of the city you’ll find lively beach towns and some of the best resorts in Indonesia. Go east and a quieter, more authentic side of the island reveals itself. Brightsun Travel has cheap airfares to Denpasar Bali so you can experience all that this magical island has to offer this holiday.

South Bali

Butik Peninsula

Head south from Denpasar Bali and you will discover beaches on the Butik Peninsula that are some of Bali’s most beautiful, so much so that they have featured in Hollywood blockbuster movies like ‘Eat, Pray, Love’. Kuta Beach is where tourism to the island all began, and now places like Nusa Dua boast high end resorts backing onto pristine stretches of coastline, where you can learn to surf by day, and sit back enjoy the views at night. The south of Bali is known for its epic sunsets, which happen every day on cue around 6pm.

Seminyak & Ubud

The neighbourhoods that line Bali’s popular southern beaches offer plenty to do away from the water, with Seminyak at the centre of the action, providing a mix of glitzy nightlife, candlelit bars, imaginative boutiques and world class hotels and resorts. In Ubud, Bali’s artistic hub, made famous by the movie ‘Eat, Pray, Love’ you will discover streets lined with galleries, and skies that light up at night with open air cocktail bars. From Ubud you can also enjoy spectacular day trips to nearby forests and rice fields.

Go East

Sideman

In the east, Sideman is a great place to explore the less discovered parts of Bali. Here you can trek through rice paddies and villages that will take you back in time. Bike around Sideman’s quiet back roads, that are still largely untouched by mass tourism, and discover workshops run by local craftsmen where you can pick up locally made jewellery, furniture, stone carvings and woodwork. Or visit the Klungkung Palace, dating back to the 17th century, and explore ancient and provocative art work on show in its famous floating pavilions.

Snorkelling & Diving

Northeast Bali is where you’ll find the island’s best water sports location. The oceans around the small fishing communities of Amed offer some of the best snorkelling in Bali. From Jemeluk and Lipah Beaches you can rent snorkelling equipment and explore colourful reefs at your leisure. Head to Tulamben and you could dive past old shipwrecks, including the US Liberty. Here you could hire a local wooden jukung boat, a traditional fishing boat, and take a leisurely cruise, and end your day with a freshly caught seafood supper.
