Coimbatore also known as Kovai is a city in India. It is the second largest city and urban agglomeration in the indian state of Tamil Nadu, after Chennai and the sixteenth largest urban agglomeration of India. The city is located on the banks of the Novyal River surrounded by the Western Ghats and is administered by the Coimbatore Municipal Corporation.
