Raviv has taken inspiration from MediaCityUK and the legendary Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava for the suspension bridge. So many factors were considered before designing the link bridge. The factors included the depth of the river, transformation of the park by the new access, other aspects of the park and how the bridge could be supported at the road side. While the design has won a lot of acclaim from the Salford City Council, it has also won the annual Hays Prize for the best final-year research project from the School of Built Environment. The city council has announced that they would incorporate all the elements of the design.
