Journalism Studies and Fascinating Career in News Industry Afterwards

In mass communication, ‘Gerbner’ who is known as one of the pioneers in communication studies emphasized the dynamic nature of communication. He had a concept of a factor- "E" which means Event. Everywhere an event is happening & every event contains a message. A person or an organization for the dissemination among the masses perceives this message by using any medium. So he talked about perception, a news is all about how a person perceives it.
A news channel works on Gerbner's concept. A news channel is an organization, which has the responsibility to broadcast the news events or information. The news organizations produce news shows in studios & newsroom. Television news channels disseminate the events by broadcasting them to the masses. A news program contains packages based on international and national events. There are number of international news organizations such as Al Jazeera, BBC, CNN, FOX News and some national one – Aaj Tak, ZEE News, NDTV, ABP News, Times Now and India TV. All the channels produce various shows such as News Bulletins, Talk show, Debate shows; interview based shows, Docu-drama.
News channels work 24×7 & the employees work in various divisions and carry responsibilities to produce the news shows on the daily basis for fixed time slots. Reporters, correspondents, news editors, News presenters work day and night to complete the program so that it can be broadcasted as per the timeline. Every news channel has its own style & treatment for their shows. For the expertise in these creative skills, you have to pursue mass-media course from various privileged institutions.
Television news channels have many job openings specific to Reporters, Editors, Anchors, Graphic Designers, Video Editor, Camera Persons, Photographers and many more. A person who has thorough knowledge & willing to work with these news organizations can get through after the completion of any degree or diploma in mass communication & Journalism.
There are many journalism and mass communication institutes, which provide essential training as per industry parameters. AAFT one of the prominent name in the field of mass media provides various courses in Reporting and TV Anchoring, Video Editing, Camera and Lighting Techniques, Directing and Producing news programs, Advertising & PR, Television Script Writing & Still Photography. A student who is passionate for this industry can get a job after completing these courses. Though an institution can't make you perfect but it can develop the skills and enhance the knowledge to make a perfectionist.
Television news industry is expanding day by day and it is going to cater the employability of the youth in India.
