Wheel balancing refers to an innovative process of equalizing the weight of the combined wheel assembly in order to make your driving experience smoother. The two most common ways of wheel balancing in North America are static wheel balancing and dynamic wheel balancing. Both of them can minimize the wheel disturbance and improve the wheel wear.

Type of Wheel Balancing in North America

1. Static wheel balancing:

Static wheel balancing is suitable for the wheels that take weight only when the wheels are stable. As the term suggests, the wheel will be balanced only when they will be at rest. The bubble balancer is specially designed to balance a static wheel assembly. Static wheel balancing is basically used on heavy trucks’ tires. The static balancing machine measures the static imbalance of a tire when the tire or wheel is placed on a non-rotating spindle tool on its vertical axis. Nowadays, static wheel balancing is not so popular.

2. Dynamic wheel balancing:

It can be said that dynamic wheel balancing is an upgraded version of the static technique. Dynamic wheel balancing refers to the way of balancing the wheels or tires by rotating them quickly and measuring the imbalance in it by utilizing the electronic equipment. If there is an imbalance in the wheels of a vehicle, it can be corrected by the dynamic wheel balancing by subtracting or adding weight from/to these rotating wheels until the vibration is minimized.

In case the driver of a vehicle goes to the garage and check for wheel imbalance, the dynamic wheel balance can be conducted.

Reasons a tire or wheel needs to be balanced:

The wheels need to be balanced because if there is a minor imbalance in your tires, you can feel a jerk or vibration on your steering wheel. In case wheel balancing is not implied, it can leave a severe impact on the braking abilities of the vehicle. Not only that, it can also put pressure on the suspension system and damage the wheels.

Wheel balancing can enhance your driving experience. It is really important to conduct a wheel balancing for your vehicle in order to save all the parts of your vehicle, especially the wheels. Wheel balancing offers the drivers a smooth driving. So, conduct a wheel balancing today to enjoy a better driving experience. Make sure your wheel balancing process is being completed through a good wheel balancing machine.
